Stylish country chic wedding at The Great Barn in Devon

Few venues compare with The Great Barn (near Exeter) in Devon. It’s impossible not to be impressed by the stylish country chic dedicated owners John and Emma have created. The perfectly defined, contemporary spaces are in complete sympathy with its quiet, rural location.

Lydia was the epitome of elegance in her Wendy Makin gown from 14 & Sixpence in Taunton. A sleek, classic cut, with low back teamed with stunning heels from Dune London. The super talented Kate from Simply Flowers provided all their floral arrangements. I love the flowing ribbons from Lydia’s bouquet to give movement and texture against the dress itself. I definitely recommend this!

In between the glasses of Prosecco and laughs, the wedding party were pampered and glammed by Kayleigh Blackmore and hair was gorgeously styled by Natasha. Ben and the Groomsmen opted for tweed suits and braces. This is such a good option for a more relaxed look in the evening when jackets and ties come off.

After the ceremony, guests ate canapé and mingled in the garden with the climbing roses along the cottage, providing the most beautiful backdrop. When the wedding breakfast was served in the Barn, I sat in the sun and enjoyed half an hour of my book and watched the chaps from Flour and Flame set up their pizza van for the evening. I grabbed a slice before I left and can confirm their pizzas are truly delicious!

The Nashville Heat played the couple’s first dance and their guests willingly filled up the dance floor, ready for the new Mr and Mrs Stokoe to party long into the night.
