Winter luxe wedding at ANRÁN in Devon

Ok so firstly, I’m not even sorry for how many photos I have put up in this blog post, because Jo and Sam’s day absolutely deserves the screen space. And when you’ve enjoyed scrolling through them all, I hope you agree.

I could tell immediately Jo was a woman who knew what she wanted for their day and all their suppliers. I also knew that having chosen a venue like ANRÁN, we all had a treat in store. Big botanicals, fairy lights and a luxe vibe awaited us. Kate from Simply Flowers created the stunning floral arrangements.

ANRÁN manor has a cosy and classy bedroom at the top of the house. Double dorma windows face out over the rolling hills and that’s where the awesome hair (Ellie, The Up Do Girl) and make-up team (Jade Isla) set up to make the most of the sunlight - yes, beautiful sun in December. The girls all went for oversized Oxford shirts while they were getting ready which was uber chic and sexy. Check out the photos of them all cracking open the Moet!

The ceremony was held at St Matthew church a short distance away in Landscove village. It’s a small and traditional setting, steeped in stained glass and with the perfect confetti aisle right outside the door. Jo and Sam booked an incredible gospel choir for the ceremony and their voices moved everyone in the congregation. It was impossible not to sing along (or was that just me?!).

Back at ANRÁN, we made the most of the short daylight hours with fun group shots, the obligatory family portraits and plenty of fizz and canapés. Jo’s gown was supplied by The White Collection Bridal Boutique and was a Made With Love design. To say it fit her like a glove is an understatement. She looked a million dollars in the figure hugging fabric. Sam and the Groomsmen went for the lux tux and the match was perfect. The Bridesmaids wore long complementing blush dresses and fur stoles.

Day turned quickly to evening as it does in winter and the guests were seated at the tables in the glasshouse, beautifully adorned with tablescapes by Keeping it Vintage. Glass and gold plate chargers, gold cutlery and crisp white linens spread across the rustic tables. The noise when the newlyweds entered was deafening, claps, roars and cheers to set the scene for their meal and speeches.

The day was documented by the incredibly talented Soby Films so hop over to his website for a look at their highlights. You’ll get a feel for the atmosphere and ambiance for sure. Thanks also to Carla of The Unbridled who came to provide some extra coverage.

We were so lucky to have use of The Hut, a converted Nissen Hut from World War 2, with corrugated walls and an array of chandelier lighting. It was absolutely perfect for portraits and later, plenty of partying. And outside the fire pit was burning away keeping guests warm.

The dance floor took no time to fill up and neither did everyone’s glasses. The gin flowed, as did the laughter and I am so pleased to have been there and see two bloody gorgeous people become Mr & Mrs and to witness such a special and epic day. Thank you both for having me.
