A modern romantic country garden wedding at Pennard House in Somerset - Champagne, Calla Lilies and cool summer air

Set against the ivy-clad walls of the exclusive Pennard House in Somerset, Georgina & Dan’s summer garden wedding was the perfect blend of modern elegance and timeless romance. With sleek silhouettes, minimalist florals and effortless style, every detail felt intentional yet unforced. They created a day that felt both relaxed and impossibly chic. This Pennard House celebration had it all; Georgina’s sleek, high fashion gown by Halfpenny Bridal Boutique in London, stunning Bridesmaids in punchy pinks, Groomsmen in James Bond style black tuxedos, all punctuated with stylish elegant details and decor. It proves that traditional and timeless can be contemporary and chic.

They married on the side lawn, creating a long green aisle to the summer house and sipped champagne on the terrace after emerging from a blizzard of confetti with the elegant house rising up behind them. They opted to keep group portraits to a minimum and focus on spending every possible moment soaking up the day, immersed in the laughs and the love. G&D opted for my full day option of 10 hours of photography coverage so there was no rush or clock watching. Everyone could relax into those precious candid moments.

Before being seated for their feast, we captured a first look of their wedding breakfast room, perfectly styled and decorated with stunning ceiling drapes to create drama and atmosphere. Using those editorial style flash techniques everyone is saving to their Pinterest boards right now, I shot some portraits. Their monochromatic scheme highlighted and complimented with the softer candle light of the tables.

After the speeches and a dress change for G (into something a little silkier) there was still an opportunity to get those golden hour photos. Backlit under a paper parasol and fuelled by cold, crispy white wine, we laughed and walked and posed and played and everyone soon hit the dance floor. A friend of the couple expertly handled the decks and had the room swaying and bouncing and raising their hands in praise of the tunes. Including me.
